Operation of the milling robot

Two telemeters positioned on the robot’s gripper define the profile of the stavewood and optimize the machining path to limit material loss. A milling cutter on a gripper then scults the sides of the stave wood to transform them into stave and thus ensure the perfect jointing of the wood during assembly.

Advantages of the stave milling machine compared to manual jointing

Human benefits

  • MSD risk removal
  • Improvement of operator safety

Material benefits

  • Raw Material saving: the accuracy of the
telemeter and the optimization of the machining path
    limit the loss of material
  • Cleanliness and safety: thanks to a suction
pipe, a protection housing, and a chip recovery tanks

Industrial benefits

  • Consistency of machining (speed & quality)
  • System easily controllable via the control
    screen (HMI)
  • Management of curved and/or straight
    staves
